Hi!

Many of you tried to register for Respawn LAN last night when registrations opened at 9PM. The level of demand we received was unprecedented and the load on our server far exceeded anything we had ever seen before. Only 9 minutes in, the server failed due to load caused by registrations, forum activity and refreshing of the player list.

Through the next while, it bounced up and down a bit before we eventually took it down. We assure you, it hurt us as much as it hurt you; maybe even more.

Since then, our crack team of Web Monkeys have organised a move of the website to a larger, more reliable facility, and we'll be back online about now.

Now we're back up again, registrations will open again tonight (Friday) at 9PM. If you were one of the 100 lucky people to register last night, fear not - your registration has not been lost, you do not need to do anything.

We'd also like to take this chance to remind you that you are now able to prepay your Respawn ticket, to get yourself a guaranteed seat! See this thread in the forums for more information.

cause say if u pay for it and u get sick then u have was't 30 bucks

But we'll give you, just like prepay, a chance.

Can I be controversial? I believe it should be a fully ticketed event like most other live entertainment events you want to go and take a seat in a theatre you have to pay for it, can't make it and youv'e made some one else miss out or the organiser can't on sell neh refund.

It's not as if any one earns money out of the event, I know it would take a lot of stress away knowing there is a break even before the date.

We have discussed this possibility. In the interests of not disadvantaging people who aren't able to pay online, we decided to keep the existing system in place and complement it with a prepay system.

Has my pay not gone through yet?

Payments need to be manually confirmed, so will take up to (in worst case, world apocolypse scenarios) three days to appear as paid on the player list.

If it's taking longer than this, please contact us and let us know, and we'll investigate.

Oh nevermind Sando PM'd me (it's because my paypal is linked to my bank account, etc). Will it do it automatically when payment goes through?

Once the payment goes through to us, that's when the delay I mentioned happens. We manually process the payments.
