Heya organisers! I've been playing a really fun TF2 mod recently called Prophunt. Here's the basic jist of it; - 32-player server
- One team (Red) spawns as props (Any item in the game, like a stack of tyres, boxes, chimney pipes, hay bales, Control points (Those are absolutely hilarious
), even a BLU pyro model, and at least one of them has to survive for 2 minutes while the other team, - (BLU) are spawned as pyros or heavies (Your choice) and have to find and kill the prop-players.
- All props-players are really scouts, and it's generally played on (marginally) lower gravity.
- The scouts are not given weapons, so they can't attack back.
- It's played on Arena maps, so you only get one life.
- Each time the BLU players attack, they lose a bit of health, so they can't just go around flaming everywhere and everything - and as it's arena map, there's limited health to heal you.
- Standing on the capture point heals you (limited to being able to do it once a minute or so).
- Pyros have a jetpack kind of thing, but at the cost of losing health. You jump and flame, and you 'fly'. (Helps to get to hard to reach hiding places)
- Aaaand finally, the last person on BLU to be alive gets a scattergun, so they have a chance to kill some pyros
Quite fun to watch ![tongue.gif](style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
(I probably missed some rules. It's 1am and i've been playing it for the past 2-3 hours ![tongue.gif](style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ) From what I understand, the developers are quite happy to spread the mod around to clans and stuff, so I don't see why they wouldn't give it to LAN organisers. Creator: DarkImmortal Site: www.gamingmasters.co.uk (http://www.gamingmasters.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=64 for a forum for it) Reckon the server admin could take a look at it and see if it's feasible to get it hosted for at least a while at respawn? ![biggrin.gif](style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I know the usual group of people that I go with would mostly all play it for quite a while, and we're around 15 people. We've been playing on a NZ server hosting it. (clearnet deluxe, i'll get IP for server if you're interested and can't find it.) So yeah, would really like it. And I can see many lulz being had if there was a funcomp of this ![tongue.gif](style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Thought I would suggest it waaaay ahead of time because it might be hard to get your hands on the mod itself. I don't mind chasing them down and asking them for you, if you don't have the time to. Oh yeah! Don't forget to youtube it. There are a tonne of hilarious gameplay videos of it in action. It really is as fun as it looks in the videos ![tongue.gif](style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) -Ratty // :3

It's already on the list. There's been a few people ask for it.
Dunno about fun comp, but there will be a server running.

Only if you know my Google Docs username and password ![wink.gif](style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) --edit-- I'll probably post a thread a week or two before the next Respawn with a list of what we'll have, and what people want. (as has been done in the past). Other than that, the list is more a list of ideas. But prop hunt is in enough demand it'll definitely be at the LAN.

Yeah. Like most mods in TF2, they're stolen from CS mods xD EDIT: Yeah, that'd be good, Squid. Means we can install particular games ahead of time ![biggrin.gif](style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I wholeheartedly support this mod! They just released to the public, so that should make setting a server up a fair bit easier hopefully: TF2 PropHunt

QUOTE (SirSquidness @ Oct 26 2009, 10:30 PM) ![*](style_images/2/post_snapback.gif) You guys love your hide and seek-esque games. Perhaps we should have a hide and seek AFK game. ![tongue.gif](style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) No... You can't possibly mean... IRL!??!?! Awesome idea! Maybe some murder in the dark or something? Not sure if that'll present any OH&S issues or whatever agreement you've got going on, but could be fun ![tongue.gif](style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Gotta do SOMETHING while DCC is hacking away at your hdds... ![tongue.gif](style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) OH. So i'm preloading borderlands at the moment... Anyone know how multiplayer on that is set up? Perhaps set a server or two on the LAN for that? Although it might be a bit early to speculate as to how it works <.<

Also, I have a couple of lazer tag sets that I used to run around LaTrobe at night with. Tried it in a couple of public schools at night too. They're heaps of fun when the cops turn up with their floodlights, it really puts your Sam Fisher skills to the test. We got busted one time and the cops asked if they could have a go ![biggrin.gif](style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Turns out cops are have the aim of a 12 year old CS:S player using a laptop trackpad. +1 for TF2 goodness.

RL Hide and Seek!!!! We'd need to have a separate area for it though. I don't think running around computer cables in the dark is a good idea If we do it outside, there's a camp game I played once where a bunch of people with torches wander off into the scrub a bit, and hide a 'something', and then they spread out around it to guard it. Someone goes back for everyone else, and tells them the rough direction, and then they have to try and get to the object without being seen by the first group of people. Lots of fun, I spent 10 minutes lying next to a trail with a guard on it, and I couldn't move ![ohmy.gif](style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

Also, +1 for laser tag, that sounds like an AWESOME idea.

The 12 year old trackpad players haven't got the skillz to pay the billz as they are too young to have had enough time to become good. The cops' aim was shit.

I think my aim probably peaked around the age of 16 before I stopped giving a shit about gaming competitively.
