Hi!

I just want to make sure the server admins are running the right mod for the COD4 comp.

It's been a while since the last Respawn and it would be nice if the servers are running the latest promod.

The competitive mod that is most recognized by the Australian COD4 Community (and used on CyberGamer ladders) is Promod Live and you can download the current version (2.04) from here;

(The AU version is at the bottom).

Oh, and on the topic of COD4, will there be a COD4 GunGame Comp (I made a thread about it and was wondering if it got finalized in the schedule)?

We aren't using 2.04 because it re-introduces the problem we had when we first tried promod (warning messages keep flashing up on the clients' screens because theres no punkbuster)

We'll be using the same version as last time (I'll check tonight exactly what version it is)

(Also i'll change the rules page to reflect.. didn't realise it stated 2.04)

Yep we have always been running promod live v1.0

If theres a fix to the punkbuster issue for 2.04, i'm happy to run it, otherwise we'll have to stick with 1.0 (same as before)

Oohms I just a dedi on Promod Live 2.04

The punkbuster message only appear when the match isn't live and in ready up/public mode. Once the game is set into match mode and everyone Ready's Up and the match begins, there are no warning messages.

Don't want to tell you how to do your job (and sound like a jerk) but just in case (and I'm sure you already know this), this is how I got it working fine (and got it into the right mode for competition);

- Started up the dedicated server
- set the Rcon password in the dedi console (rcon_password lol)
- went into the server and logged into rcon (/rcon login lol)
- set it into competitive mode (/rcon promod_mode match_mr12)
- set it to Search and Destroy (/rcon g_gametype SD)
- Restarted the server (/rcon map_restart)

This didn't fix the warning messages but got it in the right mode. Once I Ready'd Up, there were no warning messages.

I probably didn't test it live, since i saw the messages and remembered what happened last time with old promod (had to run PAM that lan lol)

In that case its an easy swap.. ill test it after i've finished writing this admin tool

We tested 2.04 AU at the lan, and the punkbuster message still pops up, even when the match is live. If anyone has a config that works, ill be happy to have a look at it and do it for the next respawn, but for this lan we'll stick with 1.0.
We won't be enabling punkbuster tho, it causes too many issues at a lan with a comp of this size tongue.gif

Why does the pro mod have to have a search and destroy match like why can't we do a sabotage or teamdm

EDIT: And to the admins. I don't think its mentioned in this thread, but we fixed the punkbuster issue @ the last Respawn by running it in LAN mode by using this command:

promod_mode lan_mr12

instead of

promod_mode match_mr12
