QUOTE (priorax @ Jul 15 2010, 05:53 PM) QUOTE (Glasseater @ Jul 15 2010, 05:49 PM) most ppl at a lans dont want healthy food its all about the greasy I second this motion. To the point where I always get the doublebacon (or if you take my ticket from last Respawn, douchebag) pizza, purely because it is the most unhealthy thing there Douchebag pizza... |

QUOTE (Jeffy @ Jul 15 2010, 04:26 PM) QUOTE (xbox_girl @ Jul 14 2010, 01:13 PM) And if you have the space, maybe respawn can provide a microwave next time? I don't know if one was provided at V17 but i know it would be handy as, not only for those that would like to bring their own food, but also for those who wanna make popcorn for movie watching The only concern I see with that, whilst it could be done. Is the mess that follows. Lanner's tend to be a messy bunch, and the amount of rubbish on floors, split drinks etc makes it a little prohibitive. Particularly when one lanner nukes their easymac and leaves a god awful mess in the microwave because it exploded everywhere and left cheese all over the inside of the microwave. Edit: Who cleans up after the lanner that exploded cheese in the microwave? I don't think Tank would have to clean it up.. if the microwave is beside where all the food is anyway then you can SEE who makes the mess and they should clean it up.. alternatively you can have the microwave behind a desk and only certain people operate it therefore making it the responsibility of whoever decided to explode the mac and cheese in the first place. As for comments surrounding making your own sandwiches, I personally don't enjoy eating foods that are off from not being in the fridge.. if i bring sandwiches to lan (with say mayo or ham) and have no where to put them then they go off.. having the ability to purchase sandwiches at lan that have been in the fridge is much more preferable to getting sick from eating warm meats... I understand that not everyone enjoys all sandwiches but it really wouldn't cost alot to make a half dozen of each type of sandwich... Alternatively, if you want to make your own sandwiches then that is up to you.. as i said, it's a healthier option and it might get a bigger response than people are thinking. |

Hot food sounds like a great idea.. though perhaps I can suggest that the "Respawn/Tank Cafe" is moved from the entrance to a larger area? I'm thinking perhaps near/behind the express check in that was at V17 (so you could just move it forward after say midday) or in the alcove as there appeared to be a large unused area at the top. From last lan it seemed you were a little cramped and adding a pie warmer/hot dog assembly area is going to make you feel like you are in a shoebox Coffee sounds like a good idea, but again maybe you can hire a coffee urn? The one i used to have held quite a few litres of coffee which ment refilling was a once every couple of hours.. definately ++ on the busy-ness as it means your not standing there for a half hour every hour refilling it. On a side note: Have you thought of providing healthier options? I know 80% of people don't want to healthy foods but perhaps you could look into providing pack sandwiches/fruit salad? I'm fairly sure you could pick up the triangle sandwich packs fairly cheap and then its just a matter of making them the night before/during the day and popping them into the fridge. And Fruit salad is easy as! And if you have the space, maybe respawn can provide a microwave next time? I don't know if one was provided at V17 but i know it would be handy as, not only for those that would like to bring their own food, but also for those who wanna make popcorn for movie watching |

QUOTE (Queen Gainer @ Jul 6 2010, 06:02 PM) QUOTE (serpentine @ Jul 6 2010, 04:01 PM) The overweight chick with the pink or orange dress and awful tatts you repulse me on every level you have the most vulgar and awful tone to your voice, no vocabulary and your were 98.689% responsible for my headache and early departure. You came and sat next to me as your CSS was not working (just to be clear on who you are) If you want to yell penis over and over again stay home....I had brand new headphones on, with the sound up full with Pantera on in the background and you still managed to penetrate and completely pierce my ear drums. Seriously grow up or at the very least make an attempt to consider others. I don't really have much input this time, but just wanted to point out this paragraph. I will now investigate who it was, since it clearly was not me. (My dress was black, and wasn't yelling penis every fives seconds. Derp.) Apart from that, it wasn't all that bad... Except I didn't know how to play 2/3 of the Girl's comp games. And the game I did know how to play wasn't what I was expecting (I miss GG ;-; ) I also confirm that is was not me (i was in a Choose your own weapon t-shirt, Transformers hoodie and jeans) or Caylem (STFU Jumper)... did anyone ever find out who the chick in the white beanie was?? lol She was the talk of DC++ for like 5 hours... Also, whoever mentioned that they left early because of headaches, i did the same.. I left at 8pm with a massive headache and little downloaded.. I think my network port thingy was a little dodgy as anytime one of the guys sitting on the hub table breathed it got knocked out.. causing me to have to get up and shove it back in or getting someone to do it for me. My apologies to the guys on that table (Possibly the Hindenberg Ground Crew?) I'm sure you got sick of me/Ceno interrupting you... I would also like to point out the yelling was a little OTT... and I'm 23.. not old by a long shot.. and even i got sick of hearing "F'ing F&GGOT" or " F'ing C#NT" or any of the other 10 varieties every 5 seconds from the same group... I respect others in their choice of gaming vocabulary however, whether it be that i am entering the "old" crowd or merely brought up differently, it did get a little repetitive and at some times just plain unacceptable. Again, I am not having a go at those that choose to yell and scream, just providing a little feedback. i also know that admins cannot possibly police this, it's just not possible in a crowd of that size... though past experiences has proven that a nice PM to an admin is usually enough to get the culprit to realise they are bothering others. It may not happen immediately, however it does happen.. Overall I enjoyed this lan... it was a shame i had to bail early, but with a little bit of skill and a whole lot of luck next lan will be just as good, if not better.. Also, I think Nerf guns should make an appearance at the next lan... i got hit plenty of times and were able to shoot off a few rounds myself.. Note to those that oppose, sit at the back in the corner to ensure you are not affected by the nerf-i-ness. *hugs* Sammie |

QUOTE (Kitfox @ Jul 2 2010, 04:32 AM) Dominoes have actually changed their recipes quite a bit. it was on TV and all. i was forced to get a dominoes pizza about a week ago and i *gasp* found it edible. even somewhat nice.
EDIT: f you dont want pizza, there is a maccas up the road, and a KFC somewhere too. Also there is Northland about a 4 min drive (McD, KFC, Various shops including Salsas), Greensborough about 8 min drive (KFC, McD, Various Shops), Red Rooster on Plenty Road (Along with kebab/pizza/fish&chips) heading towards city about 3 min drive, Nandos on plenty road (along with fish & chips, pizza, noodle bar & the bundy hotel) at bundy square, away from city with KFC/Hungry Jacks further up the road.. and if you are REALLY desperate for food.. there is a Mcd & Hungry Jacks & KFC on Dalton Road (take the freeway/settlement rd) And that doesn't include other small takeaways in the area... |
