I have been to 4 Respawns now and still wonder why people order domino's cardboard shithouse pizza? there are 2 pizza shops both within 5mins drive of Respawn that both do homemade pizzas and free delivery and yet you keep ordering from dominos?
Sure the pizzas are $2-3 more but you get what you pay for, a pizza that doesn't taste like cardboard with cheese on-top.

If we let them know at say 2-3pm im sure they would easily be able to do it, and they would love the business.

QUOTE (Micah) If we let them know at say 2-3pm im sure they would easily be able to do it, and they would love the business. Fun fact: we order over 100 pizzas. We can't even give Dominos a few hours notice. We have to contact them at least two weeks prior, and talk to the manager in order to guarantee we have all of the pizzas we need. You're more than welcome to order your pizzas separately, but for the moment Dominos is what we have to use.

Having worked in a pizza shop for about 18 months, I can tell u it's a lot harder to be prepared for 100+ pizzas for a special order, as well as keep up with the normal Saturday night load. While I agree Dominos is not the best, as Squid said there's no reason y u couldn't order elsewhere. Maybe forward the suggestion to the admin team for them to investigate for the next event.

I can setup contacts so all you need to do is ring them 1-2 weeks prior to respawn and say we are going to need about this many pizzas and go from there. Buying so many pizzas would defiantly bring the price down per pizza and you could charge menu price while getting them at discount price (like I'm sure what you do with Cardboardo's)

Hmm, from the respawns i've gone too, i've known Domino's was the option, and I gotta agree that Pizza hut does it better.. Now perhaps this particular lan is locked in, and maybe too hard to change details on.. but perhaps something can be arranged next lan, or maybe some sort of notice on the intranet where a vote can occur.. I dunno..
What ever the case, it would be nice to have pizza hut as an option for pizza.. This lan however I'm just gonna stick to my usuall plan and get a pizza from that pizza shop "Santino's" nearby the Safeway just down plenty road.

SirSquid has summarised most of this but I'm going to make a few points (being an ex-manager of a pizza place) and also helping with the event logistics...
1. sure there are other places out there, but we have negotiated rates with Domino's that have been in place for quite a number of events.
2. We don't just sever a deal with a supplier because "pizzas taste badly". They provide us with 100-150 pizzas at 7pm WITHOUT fail. Despite the Saturday rush. Even if the admin team (and I'm not an admin for the record but know some of the thought processes)... Can this new supplier (home made) keep a promise to offer/deliver 100 pizzas PRECISELY at 7pm without fail and stuff up. (As someone who has run a Domino's in another area and serviced similar clients like Respawn, this is a feat that is highly impossible without precise pre-planning)
3. The team offer you a deal at $8 delivered. You really couldn't get a pizza delivered to you at the event for $8 yourself. Sure for $2-3 more you might be able to go and get a "home made pizza" yourself. But alot of the orderers don't drive. Or really tbh driving to get it.
Comparison for you....
Standard Domino's Pizza delivered: $14.95 (standard crust/toppings - Ie: Meatosaurus) - Even if you use an $8 coupon, it's still MINIMUM $15 DELIVERY so they stack on an $8 delivery charge to make the minimum. Respawn Domino's Pizza delivered: $8.00 (same deal) - NO COUPON REQUIRED - Just a polite smile, with please/thank you's when paying and collecting from Tank.
I don't know what the others charge, but I highly doubt you'll get 1 x Single pizza delivered for $10-11 to you thats "fresh, hot and home-made" as you pointed out in the current market place.

You can suggest this as much as you want but it wont change anything.
i remember tank telling me that a mum&Dad pizza shop wouldnt cope with all the orders.
domifail has more staff on and there pizzas are prettymuch bam bam bam done.. cheap and nasty
wont happen anytime soon but the pizza place a few doors up from domifail has some nice ass pizza
we go there every respawn.

I feel sorry for your digestive system.
Eating a single pizza from them is bad enough, but 5?!
I... I'd almost drive you somewhere to get you some real food (but I'm doing my hair that night)

Last time i think i got domino's from a place that didn't do the respawn orders and it was pretty good
I think ordering that many pizzas on a sat night anywhere will get you sub par pizza
note, i'll probably get respawn dominos this time, unless i forget again
