Our registration system is confusing to a lot of people when they first see it, so I shall endeavor to demystify the mysteries laid within.

There are three stages. At each stage, the list is sorted differently. The initial stage, confirmations stage, and the bump stage. These exist to help keep the system fair.

When registrations first open
The list is grouped in to two groups - prepaid and registered. Inside each group, the list is sorted by registration date. To avoid having the list move around a lot, we reserve a number of seats for prepaids (usually 250ish), so when someone prepays, ye who hath not prepay does not get moved on the list.

Everyone starts as just 'registerd', and when they prepay, they are moved from the registered section to the prepaid section of the list. Because of the reserved spots, this means everyone who registered after the prepaying user gets moved up a spot.

When registrations get full, new registrations will be listed as "Waiting: 1" or 2, or 3 etc. Fear not, those on the waiting list - hope is not lost!

When confirmations open
Confirmations are our way of double checking that you still want to come. We get about a 20% no-show rate from confirmed users, so this is a necessary evil.

Confirmations are usually opened two to three weeks ahead of the event. If you have prepaid, you do not need to confirm - you are already in. Your registration can be confirmed at any time between the open of confirmations and a few days before the event - the time of your confirmation does not impact your final place on the list. When you confirm, your registration will be listed as 'Confirmed' on the player list for the event.

Bumping
Somewhere in the week leading up to the event (Usually about half a week before), we "bump" the player list. This re-sorts the list so that there are three groups. First the prepaids, then the confirmed, then the unconfirmed. If you do not confirm and you have not prepaid, you may be moved down to the waiting list. Inside each of the groups, users are sorted by when they registered - not when they confirmed.

For example, if there are 250 prepaid, 200 confirmed and 200 unconfirmed, spots 1-250 will be prepaid users, 251-450 will be confirmed users, and 451-650 will be unconfirmed users. If the event has 450 places, no one who did not confirm will be clearly in.

We don't "bump" the player list until close to the event, as when the list is bumped, someone confirming their spot will change the order of the list. In the above example, if the unconfirmed player at spot 451 was the first to register (ie, before the user at 251), then when 451 registers, they will be moved to spot 251, and everyone from 251-450 will be moved down one as well. This can create some confusion, so we delay the bump.

TL;DR
Register as soon as possible. This is the biggest factor in not being on the waiting list.

If you can prepay, do so. If you cannot, make sure you confirm. Confirm early if you can, as long as you do it before the cut off date.

In the end, it goes prepaids > confirmed users > unconfirmed users.

Anyone who ends up above the player limit on the event player list page will be on the waiting list, and may not be admitted entry to the event until later on Saturday when we know how full the hall is.

Still confused? Post below or PM one of the Admins on Discord, and we'll update this guide to make it less confusing!
