Be nice, have fun, don't fee the trolls, prepay you seat if you want a guaranteed seat etc.

Hi everyone, I'm very new so tell me some things i need to know!
Matt
Welcome Matt!
I'm guessing u'll be attending v19. You'll love it
Some things I recommend bringing;
- Computer (no shit right?
)
- Power board
- Network/Ethernet/Internet cable (whatever terminology floats your boat) [Make sure it's big enough, or else you might have trouble reaching a switch]
- Peripherials
- Healthy food such as bag o' chips, lollies, M&Ms etc etc (
)
- Healthy drinks such as lemonade or energy drinks
[although both of these last 2 dot points are available to purchase at respawn]
- Sleeping bag if u plan on sleeping [however i found they make good seat cushions and i've nvr slept at a respawn
]
- Pillow [either for your head or your rear-end]
- Headset/earphones (speakers are not condoned!)
- probably look into some of the forums about DC++ (respawn officially doesn't support the use of this, for legal reasons (and probably moral reasons too), however heaps of ppl use it for file sharing)
Also, before attending the event, I recommend you fully update/patch all the games you plan on playing at the lan, to avoid having to find patches/updates on the FTP etc.
Oh, and if you're gonna be using steam, login before you leave home, switch it to "Offline mode" then unplug and pack up your PC.
Finally, on the day, be sure to have a chat to the people seated around you, as you'll often find a generous and friendly bunch of people who you can game/talk with.
Best of luck,
+++

Don't forget that please have a shower and use deoderant during this event. Or you might end up with your shot on the respawn forum

Haha it all sounds pretty straight forward and sound like heaps of fun, I'm excited about attending my first event, even though its so far away, I live in langwarrin so if there is any members over this way then shoot me a pm. I'm pretty much by myself on regards to gaming, not many mates use the pc for it what games do you play on the night, keep in mind I'm super new to LAN parties...thanks for your input so far people!

Just found out I can't get to the next event...shattering, and slightly annoyed.
