Daemo: I have told other lans of sponsors whom i use to go and do buisness with whom wanted to sponsor them, im sorry but u can suss them out for youself.
BJ: Like i said poll/vote what eva. Obviously if you get given stuff from sponsors fine what eva, but if there is choice involved poll etc.
well, prizes wise, go after sponsors that you know you can get things from, i have ran (not lans) but clubs etc and i have had to go and apply for sponsorship, its not necessarily easy but you just have to get on top of it.
Even if its a few old games etc thrown in with other stuff, that would be better then what your offering. I am a warcraft person if i win the comp i dont even get my entry fee back, whooptie do how exciting, i am speaking from my perspective so i can give u guys an idea of what (me/ part of the public you are trying to attract) want. i would rather a shitty fan to show that i got something from my effort, e.g. Rezidue lan, one event i won the warcraft and i got a shitty mouse pad, prolly worth $5 but it was a laugh and we had fun, i am saying if your using $$$ to try and attract lanners i dont think its gonna work. Another lan i won $50 for warcraft - very plain.
p.s. most of my suggestions above, yes some were unrealistic, I meant as you have one big prize each event they were just suggestions etc.
but unless maybe you talk to some wholesalers (which it isnt hard to build a business relationship with, but you would want to have some one who already knows and deals with them to help persuade them etc.) You may be able to get discounts or sponsorship from them.
