Nope. Managed switches are awesome things. That said, there's no reason not to set the table to 10mbps with hub technology. (I'd say 1mbps, but ethernet switches only support 10/100/1000mbps.) ... Unless... token ring or coax anyone?

lonnng drive home after 24 hours of caffeine fulled fun lol There's a couple of reasonably priced hotels near by. There was back in the day of Shafted you could use the halls of residence for a fee. I dont know if they're still doing that, but I'm sure Zardoz would know as he's the knower of all, keeper of the LaTrobe Knowledge. Best bet..... http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&s...mp;t=h&z=11Enjoy

Yes Chairs are allowed also you can bring spectators but there not allowed to enter any of the competitions unless they register and pay. Make sure they get a spectators pass form the front desk, we don't want her to get kicked out =.=

Hi guys! you can bring your own chair IF it's like a normal sized office chair type. (we had someone try and bring a lazy-boy... ) You can bring a friend if you like! if they wont be playing in comps etc, please just ask for a spectator tag from me at the front desk

The DC discussion for sharing of legitimate ISO's such as linux has been repeatedly covered in http://respawn.com.au/forums/index.php?showtopic=546Please read that topic.

Hey, does anyone know if DC++ works on a 'Windows Home Server'? I want to bring mine to share and receive linux distros and other freeware stuff. I'm not sure because 1 - its based on Windows Server 2003, and 2 - The server does weird stuff with the disks like grouping them all to look like 1 drive.. Has anyone ever tried this before?
Cheers!
P.S. I will of course be asking the organisers if its ok before i attach a 'Server' to the network.

Yes it does work. Ask Wolfmother about his experiences if you wish.

P.S. I will of course be asking the organisers if its ok before i attach a 'Server' to the network. The grouping harddrives thing could be due to JBOD (just a bunch of discs) being setup. From my understanding of JBOD that is it's essential purpose. For more information, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-RAID_driv...hitectures#JBOD

Oh awesome. Thanks Squidy. priorax - It doesn't use JBOD, its a different technology.. something they call Windows 'Drive Extender'. Not sure if its closely related or not though.. "Microsoft's Windows Home Server employs drive extender technology, whereby an array of independent disks are combined by the OS to form a single pool of available storage. This storage is presented to the user as a single set of network shares. Drive extender technology expands on the normal features of concatenation by providing data redundancy through software – a shared folder can be marked for duplication, which signals to the OS that a copy of the data should be kept on multiple physical disks, whilst the user will only ever see a single instance of their data.[" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Home_...#Drive_ExtenderAfter some more google searching I seem to be confirming that DC++ should work fine with it which is awesome Yay

From what I know you just set up wherever there is room, so maybe whoever gets there first just kindly asks people to not sit in certain spots so that your friends can sit with you. There is no seat allocation, just try and turn up early to get a table with no one on it yet

B3NN is correct, we currently do not offer a seat alloction option. we DO offer seat rservations, basically how these work is that when you arrive at the venue, you can reserve seats for your mates (provided of course they are in the top 500). We have 2 options avaliable, UNPAID, which reseves their seat until 2pm, or PAID (where you pay for them) which reserves their seat for the entirity of the event. thanks guys, if you have any further worries or questions, feel free to ask -Tank

Was good trip. Admins are credit to team.
I think most people lost their sanity around 4am due to the mass quantities of attainage going on. You could feel the madness spreading through DC++ chat.
